Smithers Court Hearing Continued

ST. CLOUD -- The probable cause hearing for a boy accused of throwing a deadly punch which killed a man September 20th has been continued until next week.

17-year-old Jesse Smithers appeared in Stearns County District Court today to determine whether there is enough evidence to certify him to stand trial as an adult.

Smithers is accused of throwing one punch, hitting 20-year-old Colton Gleason in the face, causing him to fall backward and hit his head. He later died at St. Cloud Hospital.

Smithers will be back in court Tuesday morning.
