A St. Cloud teenager has pleaded guilty to second degree unintentional murder for delivering a fatal blow that killed Colton Gleason in September 2012.
Residents in Central Minnesota have had their small towns and sleepy neighborhoods rocked by a string of violent crimes usually thought of as "big city" problems, or something that only happens "someplace else."
The boy accused of delivering the punch that killed 20-year-old Colton Gleason made his first court appearance in Stearns County Court today (Tuesday). Seventeen-year-old Jesse Smithers of Sauk Rapids is facing charges of murder in the second degree, manslaughter in the first degree, and assault in the first degree.
