ST. CLOUD -- St. Cloud State University may have set a new world record for the most people howling at one time.

Almost 300 students showed up to the Atwood Mall Friday night to participate.

No record currently exists but in order for SCSU's attempt to be recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records they needed at least 250 people to participate.

Each person was assigned a specific number and designated area they were to stand during the event.

Only one person was disqualified for lack of participation.

Howling lasted for one full minute, only stopping to take breaths. At least 250 people needed to be continuously howling in order for the attempt to be recognized.

The University must wait about four to five weeks after they send in tonight's (Friday) evidence to find out if they set a record.
