Sauk Rapids Fire Crews Battled Barn Fire on Monday Night
WATAB TOWNSHIP - Sauk Rapids firefighters battled a barn fire last (Monday) night.
Fire Chief Tony Hommerding says strong winds and cold temperatures made for difficult conditions.
The call came in at about 8:00 p.m. at 621 75th Street Northeast in Watab Township. A dairy barn with a hayloft half full of hay started on fire. Crews were able to contain the damage to just the one building. No livestock were hurt.
The damage estimate is between $30,000 and $50,000. The cause is listed as undetermined accidental.
