ROCKVILLE - A dedication ceremony will be held in Rockville on Sunday - on the 15th anniversary of 9-11 - for their new Veteran's Monument.

Organizer Rosie Steil says the new monument has a lot of names on it.

Those names are from all over the country. A lot of families who have some previous connection to Rockville, they didn't have to, but a lot of them did.

Stiel says the monument honors not only military members, but also police officers, firefighters, first responders, and more.

Steil says it was important for her to help bring this to her community.

You see all these little towns have memorials and we did not have one. I had a brother who was in the service and I always felt like he had no honor because he was from Vietnam, and I felt bad for those guys. So this was always something that was always on the back of my mind.

The monument includes a piece of the World Trade Center in New York.

The event on Sunday starts at 12:30 p.m., with a flyover of World War II planes at 1:00 p.m., followed by live music.
