MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Minneapolis police say a standoff with a man in north Minneapolis has ended.

During that time, police urged residents in the Folwell area to stay inside and away from windows.

Police Sgt. Stephen McCarty says police were called to the area of 35th and Newton Avenues North about 4:30 a.m., when a person ran from a house to stop a police car.

McCartys says police believe the incident began as a domestic disturbance. A man, a woman and an infant left the house unharmed while police continued to negotiate with the suspect.

The man was arrested and taken to the hospital, which is standard procedure.
