ALEXANDRIA, Minn. (AP) — A pilot has died in a plane crash in western Minnesota.

Douglas County sheriffs' authorities say 911 callers reported the crash just before 7:30 p.m. Saturday in LaGrande Township. Medical crews arrived and found the pilot dead.

The pilot was the only person in the plane. Authorities say the plane apparently struck a power pole before landing in a ditch.

The name of the pilot was not released. Federal authorities will investigate.

It was the second plane crash in Douglas County in two days. On Friday night, a single-engine plane crashed into Lake Winona in Alexandria. The 18-year-old pilot survived that crash.
