Park Board to Hear Plans for Miracle Playground
ST. CLOUD -- St. Cloud's Park Department wants to apply for a state grant to build a playground for kids with disabilities.
A public hearing tonight is the first step in building a $350,000 Miracle Playground at Whitney Park. It would be built near the existing Miracle Field there.
Parks Director Scott Zlotnik says the $150,000 grant would come through the DNR's Outdoor Recreation Program. But, he says this only the first of many steps to get the playground built.
The city is working with the Metro Lions Club and Miracle League of Central Minnesota. If the necessary funds and approvals are gathered, work would start next spring.
The public hearing is tonight at 6:00 at St. Cloud City Hall.
