The addition of 3 new splash pads in St. Cloud is underway. St. Cloud Park and Rec Director Scott Zlotnik joined me on WJON. He says the wading pools at both Centennial and Haws parks have been removed to make way for new splash pads. In addition to that, 10-10 park will be adding a splash pad.
St. Cloud will open 3 wading pools Tuesday. That according to St. Cloud Park and Rec Director Scott Zlotnik. Zlotnik indicates due to a large leak at the Centennial Park pool the 3 that will open are Rotary, Seberger and Pantown.

Phase 3 of the Beaver Island Trail project goes before the Park and Recreation Board tonight. The project is again moving forward after the St. Cloud City Council rejected an earlier plan to route the trail behind the River's Edge Condominium.

The city of St. Cloud is working to clear the way for a land donation that would add park land to Whitney Park. Parks and Recreation Director Scott Zlotnik says John and Mary Weitzel are offering six acres of land between the Sauk River and the Whitney Dog Park.
A ceremony tomorrow (Tuesday) will put the finishing touches on a Lake George project that has been in the works since 2007. Planners, donors and other dignitaries will get an up close look at the Eastman Park project around Lake George.
The Mississippi Bluffs Regional Park is getting some upgrades thanks to the Clean Water, Land and Legacy Amendment. The city of St. Cloud was awarded a $427,000 grant to use for improvements.
