ST. CLOUD - Over 400 students competed in this year's VEX Robotics tournament at Rivers Edge Convention Center.

Teams varied in age, size and sense of style. An all girl team "The Pink Team" from Mankato East Jr. High School showed off their love for the sport and also encouraged other girls to get involved.

Other teams like the Kimball Area High School team decided to "suit up" and showcase their robots. Each team member dressed for success wearing a suit and tie. Maybe dressing up gave the team good luck, team captain Ben Zipoi says they faced hard teams but are proud for how well their robot performed.

Each robot takes time and planning. The Pony Robotics team from Waren-Alvarado-Oslo High School says they had to build their robot section by section to make sure it could function properly.

Nearly 90 teams competed in the tournament.
