O’Mara Jailed in Wisconsin, Awaits Monday Hearing
ASHLAND, WI -- A woman who pleaded guilty to killing her ex-husband in his Sauk Rapids apartment now faces murder charges in Wisconsin.
39-year-old Angelina O'Mara was sentenced to life in prison after pleading guilty to first degree murder of James O'Mara back in December. She admitted to shooting her ex-husband once in the head with a .22 caliber rifle as he slept on the couch in November 2011.
According to the criminal complaint from Ashland County Wisconsin, O'Mara checked into an Ashland hotel with her boyfriend Michael Pies. Pies was later found dead with a single gunshot wound the head.
O'Mara was found days later in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
O'Mara now faces one charge of first degree intentional homicide. As part of due process, she'll appear in Ashland County Court Monday for a bail hearing.
She was sentenced to life in prison in Minnesota without the possibility of parole.
