Man Responsible For Recent Burglary Arrested

ST. CLOUD -- The St. Cloud Police Department arrested a man this morning connected to a burglary that occurred in November in south St. Cloud.

Sergeant Jason Burke says that police responded to a possible burglary in process around 7:40 a.m. today in which two men were trying to enter several houses in the 600 block of 8th Avenue South.

Officers located the two men and arrested 20-year-old Montate Carprice Thomas of St. Cloud after a short foot chase.

Upon further investigation, evidence was found that connected Thomas to the burglary of a 21-year-old woman in the 500 block of 8th Avenue South five weeks ago.

Thomas is currently being held at the Stearns County Jail and faces charges of 1st-degree burglary and fleeing the police on foot.

The investigation continues to identify the second suspect.
