ST. CLOUD -- Over 100 Minnesota-based businesses filled the River's Edge Convention Center on Saturday at the 2nd annual Made in Minnesota Expo.

Those who came out to the event enjoyed free samples, games, giveaways while having the chance to interact with local business owners.

"It's wonderful when everyone comes here they know that it's all somebody from Minnesota -- I think it makes in more special," says Waite Park resident Jan Tuffel, of Designs by Jan.

"It's a great day -- I get to hang out with people who do the same thing I do," says vendor Vickie Staley, whose business, Just to Keep You Warm, sells hand-crafted clothing items made from natural fibers.

"I love people, so this has been great for me," says Jessi Brinkman, owner of Sweet Nature Gluten-Free Baked Goods. "How often do you really get to talk with the owner of a company and find out why they do what they do?"

"I think that's great for people who want to shop local."

Thousands of people got those opportunities throughout the afternoon event, making for a successful year in showcasing small business in Minnesota.
