Lucille “Celie” Mae McAlister, age 85, Sauk Rapids, MN, died Thursday, August 11, 2016 at Good Shepherd Senior Community, Sauk Rapids, MN.

Funeral services will be Thursday, August 18, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Benson Funeral Home Chapel, St. Cloud, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Thursday. Burial will be in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, Little Falls, MN.

Lucille was born July 30, 1931 in Milaca, MN to Frank and Ella (Johnson) Stewart. She married Orval James McAlister on April 28, 1950 in Milaca, MN. Lucille was employed as a telephone operator for Northwestern Bell Telephone for 4 years and then was employed by Fingerhut for 7 1/2 years. She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church.

Survivors include sons, James McAlister of Waite Park, MN; David (Andrea) McAlister of Atlanta, GA; daughter-in-law, Joan McAlister of St. Cloud, MN; brothers and sister, Robert (Joanne) Stewart of St. Paul, MN; Richard (Judy) Stewart of Milaca, MN; Diane (Herb) Hedin of Kingman, AZ; four grandchildren, Sarah (Scott) Diebold, Molly, Mary and David McAlister; two great grandchildren, Cody and Taylor Diebold; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Orval on February 7, 2001.
