Landwehr Retirement, New Seat Create Judgeship Vacancies
ST. CLOUD -- Minnesota's Seventh Judicial District will be looking for two new judges in the coming months after a new bench seat was created and a longtime judge based in St. Cloud retires.
Former Chief Judge Vicki Landwehr is retiring in September, leaving her seat open. Another judgeship is being created to handle increasing caseloads.
Landwehr's seat will be chambered in Milaca and the new judgeship seat will be chambered in St. Cloud.
Applications are due July 19th and interviews will be held in August.
Governor Mark Dayton will ultimately name the judges based off of recommendations by the Commission on Judicial Selection.
The Seventh Judicial District covers 10 central and northwestern Minnesota counties including Stearns and Benton.
