ST. CLOUD -- The issue of a potential bonding bill bubbled up to the surface again this week when Governor Dayton unveiled his plan to spend $1 billion in construction projects.

On the WJON Legislative Review program today (Friday) we asked Republican State Representative Tim O'Driscoll of Sartell about it.  He says there's already $1.5 billion in unspent bonding money from previous sessions.

O'Driscoll says recipients of bonding money have up to four years to spend it.

Meanwhile, Democrat Larry Hosch of St. Joseph says he doesn't exactly agree with Governor Dayton's priorities.  He was surprised to see the Governor left the planned $42 million St. Cloud State University Science Lab out of his proposal.

If a bonding bill is put together this year, it most likely wouldn't happen until much later in the Legislative session.
