Home Deemed Total Loss From Fire Near Watkins

WATKINS -- Several fire crews responded to a house fire in Meeker County Tuesday morning.

The incident happened just after 9:00 a.m. in the 36,000 block of 653rd Avenue in Forest Prairie Township, near Watkins.

The home was owned by 50-year-old Kevin Root of rural Watkins.

Fire officials say the house was a total loss and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
