Gregory Joseph Petersen, 67 of Brainerd, previously of Princeton, passed away Wednesday, December 3, 2014.

Greg was born April, 20 1947 in Minneapolis, the son of Carl and Marie (Mangen) Petersen. Greg grew up in Plymouth and then graduated from Orono High School in 1966. He then enlisted in the United States Air Force where he served in Vietnam, Thailand, Guam and Okinawa from June 1966-December 1969. Greg’s service was recognized with many honors. On February 18,1967 Greg was united in marriage to Roberta Jacobsen in Robbinsdale. While Greg served in the military, the couple lived in Rapid City, South Dakota. Greg and Roberta lived in several cities and most recently in Brainerd. Greg worked for a variety of companies throughout his lifetime including Northwest Airlines, Pillsbury Totinos, Caterpiller and General Mills.

Greg was a hardworking man who was always seen with a hammer in his hand. He enjoyed building things and entertained many projects. Greg always sang while he worked and enjoyed singing and music, especially Elvis. He loved taking road trips with Roberta, spending time at the cabin and being up north. Most of all he loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. He will be dearly missed.

He is survived by his loving wife Roberta; children, Gregory Adam (Leah) Petersen, and Sabrina Petersen; 12 grandchildren; siblings, Raymond (Arlene), Carolyn, Thomas (Judy), Lawrence (Janice), Mary (Larry), Vincent, Stephan (Laura), Jeffrey (Pam), Cecilia, and Kevin (Theresa); and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his children Jason and John; parents; and niece Karen.

A Funeral Service will be held 2PM Monday, December 8, 2014 at St. John Lutheran Church of Zimmerman. Visitation will be from 12-2PM prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in Bellwood Cemetery, Zimmerman.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, Princeton.
