ST. CLOUD - A focus group met last (Thursday) night with the developers of a planned loft-style condominium project in downtown St. Cloud.

Rod Lindquist is the spokesman for the developer Makenda LLC. He says the response to the project has been positive. And, interested potential loft-owners should be able to start buying by early this summer.

He says feedback from their target residents.

Lindquist says they're hoping to have a development agreement ready for the EDA by early March.  The project would go to Planning and Zoning after that. They're hoping to break ground on the project in July, with construction to take about a year.

The six-story, 46-unit, building is being planned for the Dan Marsh parking lot on West St. Germain Street in downtown St. Cloud.

Lindquist says a lot of the design specifics for the six-story building are still being worked out. Lofts are expected to be sold for between $180,000 and $250,000.
