Flooded Roads in Southeastern Minnesota Reopening

ROCHESTER -- Roads are reopening in southeastern Minnesota as flood water recede.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation says Highway 105 near the Iowa border south of Austin reopened early Saturday after being closed because of flooding from the Cedar River.

Highway 250 north of Lanesboro also reopened Saturday morning. But Highway 65, which is Main Street in Albert Lea, remains closed with a local detour in place.

MnDOT says rivers in southeastern Minnesota remain at high levels. Motorists should not try to drive through standing water on roads.

North of Minneapolis, parts of Highway 169 remain closed in both directors on the border of Maple Grove and Brooklyn Park because of flooding. The road is expected to remain closed until Sunday. More rain is forecast for the area.
