ST. JOSEPH/COLLEGEVILLE - Enrollment at Saint John's University and the College of Saint Benedict remains strong this year.

Saint Ben's and St. John's combined to enroll 3,744 first-year to senior students. The students come from 38 states and 24 countries.

Last year, both schools combined to enroll 3,860 students.

CSB's enrollment this fall is 1,986 students. Undergraduate enrollment at SJU was 1,758.

New student enrollment was 542 at CSB and 450 at SJU for a combined first year class of 992, slightly down from 1,035 new students last year.

The overall retention of continuing students remains very high. Retention from the first year to the second year totaled 88 percent, a rate that continues to rank among the highest in the country.
