Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 23, 2014 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sauk Rapids for Elaine J. Fleck, age 84, of Sauk Rapids who passed away Saturday at the St. Cloud Hospital. Rev. Ralph Zimmerman will officiate and burial will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. Thursday at the church. Arrangements have been entrusted to Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, Sauk Rapids.

Elaine was born July 21, 1930 in Sauk Rapids to Edward & Katherine (Skiba) Larson. She married Charles Roeder on June 10, 1950 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sauk Rapids, and Charles died on Dec. 6, 1957. Elaine married Melvin Fleck on Feb. 8, 1964 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sauk Rapids, and Melvin died on Oct. 31,1981 . She was a lifetime resident of Sauk Rapids, and was a bank officer for Norwest Bank for over 28 years and St. Stephen State Bank for 6 years. She was also a van driver for special needs children who called her “Grandma”. Elaine was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church where she was a member of the Christian Mothers. She was also a Benton County Commissioner for six years, and a member of Sauk Rapids American Legion Post 254 Auxiliary, St. Cloud East Side VFW Post 4847 Auxiliary, and St. Cloud Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 622. Elaine volunteered at the St. Cloud Hospital Gift Shop and helped out the Poor Clare’s. She loved her cat and enjoyed sending greeting cards, working auctions, feeding the birds, fishing and watching the perennials come up in the spring. She was a compassionate, loving person who will be missed by all who knew her!

Survivors include her daughters, Shelly (David) Sampson of Fridley and Cindy (Craig) Cunningham of Blaine; grandchildren, Lisa, Amy, Shannon and Nick; great grandchildren, Karlie, Taylor and Ryder; brothers, Wayne (Jeanne) Larson of Hastings and Dennis (Marella) Larson of Sauk Rapids; and sister-in-law, Arlys Larson of Sauk Rapids. Elaine was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; sister, Joan Larson; brother, Ed Larson; and infant brother, Gordon.
