Dennis Vincent Voigt, 80, Becker

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30

AM Tuesday at Mary of the Visitation Catholic Church in Becker for Dennis V. Voigt who died peacefully at his home in Becker Thursday evening. The Rev. Eugene Doyle will officiate services and burial will be in St. Marcus Cemetery, Clear Lake. Visitation will be from 4-8PM Monday and 1 hour prior to services Tuesday at the church in Becker. Parish prayers will be 7:30PM Monday at the church in Becker.

Dennis was born in Lynden Township to Tobias & Mary (Kloeppner) Voigt. He served his country in the United States Army from 1957 to 1959, active duty, and in the Army Reserves until 1963. He married Janett Ann Gohman on June 28, 1960 at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church in St. Cloud. They have lived and raised their family in Becker since 1962.

Dennis worked for Elk River Cretex for 39 years, retiring in 2000. He was an active member of Mary of the Visitation Catholic Church in Becker, the Becker/Big Lake Knights of Columbus and Mended Hearts in St. Cloud. Dennis was a frequent volunteer at church as well as church trustee for many years. He was a councilman for the City of Becker for 19 years. The couple loved to travel and have been to 47 states, Mexico and the Dominican Republic. Dennis was a fan of all Minnesota sports teams and enjoyed working in his yard and playing cards. He especially treasured attending all the grandkids many activities.

Survivors include his wife Janett of Becker; children, Loren (Marisol) of Roseville; Ronald of Becker; Sharon (Randy) Stoick of Maple Lake; Connie Voigt of Washington, DC; Mary (Richard) Mullvain of Saginaw; grandchildren Monica, Garrett & Samantha Mullvain, Brandon & Jeffrey Stoick, Jenna Voigt and Alana Voigt; and brother, James (Pat) of Clearwater.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Susan; parents, brothers, Gerald, Cyril and Roger, sisters, Loretta Jansky and Jeannette Gohman.
