The Central Minnesota Nordic Ski Club offers adults a chance to ski with like-minded cross country lovers, and children a chance to learn the basics.

Nick Snavely is the youth skiing coordinator for the group. He says that the club is volunteer-based, with many people chipping in to keep the trails smooth and clear.

Snavely adds the group currently has a membership of around 30 kids learning their way on the local trails.

He adds that one of the "tricks" to working with kids is to constantly be teaching techniques and strategies, without making it seem as though they are being taught at all.
