The Gopher men's basketball team is ranked 16th in the AP poll and 17th in the Coaches poll this week in Division I college basketball. The Gopher men's basketball team has won 3 straight games and 2 straight against ranked opponents after downing #17 Michigan State 81-56 Monday night. The 21st ranked Gopher men's basketball team won their 3rd game in a row and 9th this season 81-56 over #17 Michigan State Monday night at Williams Arena. The Gophers led 36-16 at halftime and outscored the Spartans 45-40 in the 2nd half. Minnesota dominated the boards outrebounding Michigan State 52-36.

The Timberwolves are off to a 2-1 start but have lost top player Karl-Anthony Towns with a wrist injury for an indefinite period of time. Star Tribune Sports Columnist Jim Souhan joined me on WJON today. He says Towns could be out for weeks with this injury.
