The Minnesota Twins took their first loss of the season to the Chicago White Sox Saturday.

The Bomba Squad is back in business as the Minnesota Twins opened up their long-awaited season with a 10-5 win over the Chicago White Sox Friday.

The Twins start the 2020 season in Chicago against the White Sox tonight at 7:10, pregame on WJON at 6:30. Star Tribune Sports Columnist Jim Souhan joined me on WJON today. He isn't sure pitch count means that much for Jose Berrios tonight when he takes the mound to start the opener for the Twins.

Major League Baseball is back! The Twins played against the Cubs in an exhibition game Wednesday night in preparation of their regular season opener against the White Sox Friday night (7 p.m., WJON).

The Twins will head to the South Side of Chicago Friday night to take on the Sox. First pitch is set for 7:10 on WJON.

The NFL will not play preseason games this season. The NFL a few weeks ago eliminated weeks 1 and 4 of the preseason and is now cancelling weeks 2 and 3 of the preseason too. He says it never made sense the NFL to play games that had no meaning during this pandemic.

St. Thomas has received permission from the NCAA to make the move from Division III Athletically to Division I starting with the 2021-2022 season. Star Tribune Sports Columnist Jim Souhan said St. Thomas will fit well in the Summit League for 19 of their 22 sports and will play in the Pioneer League for football and WCHA for women's hockey.

So many things could go wrong with baseball's plan to return. Unlike Major League Soccer, the National Hockey League and the National Basketball Association, MLB is attempting to have teams play in their home parks.
