CAMBRIDGE (AP) - The principal of a central Minnesota primary school is accused of drunkenly stalking his ex-girlfriend after bumping into her at a fundraiser.

Court documents filed Monday show Christopher Allen Grote is charged with two counts of stalking, disorderly conduct and fleeing police in the incident at the weekend.

Grote is the principal of Cambridge Primary School.

According to a criminal complaint, the 47-year-old Grote showed up uninvited at his ex-girlfriend's home and called her repeatedly. She called the police. The complaint says when officers arrived, Grote fled into some woods where he was arrested early Sunday.

Cambridge Public Schools Superintendent Ray Queener says the district's intermediate school principal will cover for Grote while the case against him moves ahead.

Grote is scheduled to appear in court Tuesday morning.
