The Boys and Girls Clubs of America is one of the most well-known and successful youth development organizations in the world.

This week, the St. Cloud area is recognizing National Boys and Girls Club Week with public events to highlight the different projects and talents of area members. This includes a gallery of photographs taken by club members, on display this week in the food court area of Crossroads Mall in St. Cloud.

Mark Sakry, Executive Director,  and Tom Wicks, Director of Programs for Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Minnesota,  say that, thanks to the creativity of staff and volunteers, the kids have fun, and learn too.

In addition to providing opportunities for kids to play sports, take part in the arts and even garden, the clubs give kids a solid foundation in becoming good citizens.

Sakry says, thanks to strong community support, they've been able to build three club facilities on the north, south and east sides of St. Cloud in less than 15 years.
