ST. CLOUD -- You're invited to see art in a new way Wednesday night at the Eastside Boys & Girls Club.

The 2019 Youth Arts Initiative holiday showcase features a variety of art forms, such as dance, fashion, and visual art, created by the youth in our community.

Aimee Minnerath is the Youth Arts Initiative Director. She says throughout the past year, over 800 kids have participated in the Youth Arts Initiative in some form in preparation for this showcase.

They are all in with the youth arts initiative. It's just wonderful to see all the different skills they are building, not just creative skills, but skills employers are looking for and they are learning them through our clubs.

This year's theme is Global Wonderland and will feature art from different cultures.

Minnerath says it's been an eye opening experience for many of the kids.

Our kids are learning about different cultures, countries and the way different cultures celebrate the holidays. It's wonderful to help our youth connect with their culture or other cultures through an arts lens.

Doors open at 6:00 p.m. with some family fun and activities, including pictures with Santa. The showcase will begin around 6:30 p.m.

The event is free to attend.
