SARTELL -- The Sartell - St. Stephen School Board officially approved the resignation of Superintendent Joe Hill.

The board voted unanimously to accept the resignation effective June 30, 2013.

The two parties negotiated a "reasonable" separation agreement. No official reason was given at the special meeting Friday, but Hill said in a statement that the move was made in his best convictions and that of the direction of the district.

Hill continued by saying that it was a privilege to serve the communities of Sartell and St. Stephen.

It is not known at this time what Hill's next step will be but he did say he will take time with his family to consider his future. He was hired in 2010 and given an extension through 2016 last October.
