Best In The West! Granite City Lumberjacks Eyeing A 5th Fraser Cup
It was another occasion to bust out the brooms this weekend as the Granite City Lumberjacks swept the Minnesota Moose in the West Division Finals. The 'Jacks are now heading down to St. Louis to compete for a 5th Fraser Cup.
The Lumberjacks are looking to add one on the thumb with a 5th NA3HL championship, as the Lumberjacks have hoisted the trophy in 2012, 2015, 2017, and most recently in 2023.
I had the chance to attend the game Friday night at the Miller Buick/GMC Arena, and not only were the fans packed in, but the scoreboard was dangerously close to needing a second digit. The Jacks skated to an 8-2 win Friday night, in a game that was more subdued than what was expected.
Congrats to Patty Dunaiski of Cloquet with the Hat Trick Friday night!
Saturday night the team took the bus down to Blaine, and from social media it appeared to be another Lumberjacks Home game as the Jack fans made the trip, hoping to celebrate a West title.

The Lumberjacks gave their fans what they came for, as they pulled out a 4-2 win to secure their trip to Missouri.
The schedule for the Lumberjacks this week is as follows.
Wednesday the Lumberjacks face off against the Louisana Drillers, winners of the South Division, at 7:30pm.
Thursday the Lumberjacks take on Binghamton out of the East Division, also a 7:30pm game.
Friday the guys are off, and depending how they do against Binghamton and Lousiana, the team would then be playing Saturday at 4 or Saturday at 7:30pm.
If the Jacks make it through the gauntlet, they play in the championship game Sunday at 4pm.
