AVON -- The City of Avon is currently weighing its options improving when it comes to First Street. At Monday night's city council meeting, the issue was tabled until the city's strategic planning group could work out some budget details.

The project itself would cost 1.2 million dollars. Around 20 properties would be affected by the road improvements and would be assessed around $13,000 each.

The city would also have to raise taxes 12%, or cut an equal amount from its budget.

Mayor John Grutsch says the city doesn't want to move forward until they have a good idea if they can afford it.
