The U.S News and World Report puts St. Cloud Hospital as high performing in ten specialties:

- neurology and neurosurgery
- orthopedics
- diabetes and endocrinology
- gastroenterology and gastrointestinal surgery
- geriatrics
- gynecology
- nephrology
- pulmonology
- urology

The Mayo Clinic in Rochester and three Twin Cities facilities ranked higher.

The annual rankings cover about 5,000 medical centers across the country.

Rankings are based on safety, and reputational survey of physicians from across the United States.
