Xcel “Stay Away From Downed Power Lines”
MINNEAPOLIS -- While Xcel Energy continues to fix the latest power outage, Xcel officials asks customers to stay away from downed power lines.
"We are trying toe ensure that word gets out to our customers to stay away from downed power lines as crews and crews from other utilities work to restore power in the wake of Friday's storms that left more than a half million Xcel Energy customers in Minnesota without service" says Xcel Media Relations Manager Mary Sandok.
More that one-thousand employees from Xcel Energy and other utilities are working round the clock to restore storm-related power outages.
Xcel Energy thanks you for your patience during the outages and wants to remind everyone that if you see a downed power line stay clear and call 1-800-895-1999
