The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for southwestern Benton and northwestern Sherburne counties until 3:15 a.m. Quarter size hail is associated with this storm. Locations affected by the storm include the St. Cloud Airport, Duelm and Parent. This storm is moving at 15 miles an hour.
The National Weather Service says they have three survey teams out Monday surveying the damage from reported tornadoes, however, Benton county is not one of the areas they are working in.
One person has died and at least two others have been injured when a powerful storm toppled trees in a northeastern Minnesota forest. The Cook County Sheriff's Office responded to two separate calls in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness in the Superior National Forest about 10:30 p.m. Sunday.
