This past Saturday family, volunteers and friends honored those that have fallen at the Minnesota State Veterans cemetery in Little Falls.

CAMP RIPLEY PUBLIC AFFAIRS OFFICE

This event happens every December.  But this year 3 more were added who were killed just 9 days before.  We are all very aware and saddened by the tragic deaths of these 3 National Guard soldiers, and they were honored along with nearly 6,000 other veterans with a wreath placed at their grave stone.  This is the 10th year there has been enough money raised to be able to place a wreath at every grave.

"Every veteran, and every veteran’s family member, is going to be honored. It’s my passion," said Wreaths for the Fallen President, John Thomas.

The 3 extra wreaths for this year were placed around a flag pole that was positioned at the center of the cemetery.

Each wreath was decorated with a picture of one of the Minnesota National Guard soldiers killed in a helicopter crash near Kimball December 5.
