WAITE PARK -- WACOSA is opening a thrift store to help serve more people with disabilities learn job skills.

Sales and Marketing Manager Ann Kennedy says they want to expand the job opportunities for their existing clientele but also serve people with Asperger's Syndrome. Asperger's is a social skills disorder that Kennedy says is oftentimes "underserved" in our community.

The thrift store will be located in the former Vilo's Lanes building at 310 Sundial Drive in Waite Park.

Kennedy says they hope to open in late spring or early summer depending on donations.

Last year WACOSA served 600 adults with disabilities and they expect that number to grow as high as 700 in 2013.
