UPDATE: Big Lake Man Dies After Being Shocked in Sherburne County Lake

ORROCK TOWNSHIP - A man who was shocked while charging a boat battery in Sherburne County has died.

Sheriff Joel Brott says 46-year-old Daniel Peterson of Big Lake was taken to the Hennepin County Medical Center, where he died on Sunday.

The incident happened on Thursday at about 2:30 p.m. on Eagle Lake in Orrock Township.  Deputies arrived to find two people floating and unresponsive.

The other person was 49-year-old Kris Biser, Daniel Peterson's sister.  Biser was taken to St. Cloud Hospital, and was breathing on her own.

According to witnesses, Peterson was charging his boat battery.  He was standing in about 20 inches of water when he fell while holding on to the battery charger.  Biser witnessed the fall and ran into the water to help her brother.  Neighbors pulled the electrical cord from the socket then pulled the two from the water.
