SAUK RAPIDS -- Benton County authorities have jailed three men after a traffic stop led to a large drug bust last Friday.

Sheriff's officials say a deputy made a traffic stop in the 400 block of Summit Avenue South and detected the smell of marijuana. The driver, 22-year-old Trevor Burton of Sartell was searched and was allegedly carrying 1 1/2 ounces of pot.

Two passengers, 25-year-old Barry Lambertson of Oak Park and 18-year-old Alex McCarty of Sartell, were found to be carrying more than $2,200 worth of methamphetamine.  Officers also confiscated more than $2,000 in cash.

A search of the car also turned up a loaded 45-caliber handgun and ammunition.

Police say during questioning, one of the suspects led officers to another vehicle which contained about $10,000 worth of high grade marijuana, $1,200 worth of meth, 50 doses of LSD and 12 prescription pills.
