The American team is one of the top two programs in the world, and they didn't disappoint making it all the way to the gold medal game. Schleper's family and friends gathered for the big game at the Blue Line South, while Cathedral students and staff were on the edge of their seats watching the game in the auditorium. In the end, the Canadians took the gold 3-2 in overtime.

Schleper played well throughout the tournament and brought a very respectable Olympic silver medal home to St. Cloud.

Schleper graduated from St. Cloud Cathedral in 2008, and she also went on to win a national championship with the University of Minnesota women's hockey team.
