Tip Leads Police to Meth Bust at Staples Train Depot
STAPLES -- Two people were arrested in Staples Tuesday after a tip led authorities to a methamphetamine bust.
Staples Police got a tip Monday about a man from the state of Washington who was traveling to Staples with a large amount of methamphetamine.
The Central Minnesota Violent Offenders Task Force sent agents to the Staples Train Depot and arrested 29-year-old Samuel Woods of Lake Stevens Washington. Officers say they found a small amount of meth on Woods and a loaded handgun.
Officers from the Todd County Sheriff's Department, Staples Police Department and Wadena Police also helped arrest Robert Owen. The 37-year-old Wadena man was there to pick up Woods from the train station. Owen was also arrested for possession of a small amount of meth.
