Do you like to shop? If you do, how much everything costs these days has probably impacted how much you shop and most likely where you shop as well.

My wife and I are like most everyone else, watching what we spend and being more strategic in what we do and where. One of the things we have in common is how much we enjoy shopping at thrift stores.

There’s something about finding something that someone discarded for whatever reason, and then bringing it into your home or giving it new life again. Especially when you do it in some cases for a fraction of the cost of buying the same thing new is.

My wife enjoys repurposing furniture and other items that fit our needs or home. She’s developed quite an eye for things that are more valuable than the price she pays for them and then resells them to collectors or other folks who have a need that item fills.

If you are like my wife and I and enjoy the hunt and the savings, you need to check out a thrift store that has recently opened in St. Cloud.

S-O-S Thrift Store is now open on Veterans Drive in St. Cloud in Centennial Plaza. The stores hours are from 10-6 Wednesday through Friday and from 10-5 on Saturday. They used to be called SOS Treasure Chest in Sauk Rapids. They've changed their name with the new location.

Their sign says, “Cosign and Shop”, so maybe you’ve got somethings you want to sell and having a garage or yard sale doesn’t fit your schedule. This could be just what you’re looking for.

The S-O-S stands for “Smart Organizing Solutions”, they are a professional organizing business. The store features tons of gently used household items and collectibles. You may also be able to find yarn, or fabric that you can turn into your next creation.

So, the next time you have a need for something you don't want to have to pay the "new" price for, or just want to see what you can find that's really cool, give S-O-S Thrift Store a try.
