MINNEAPOLIS - Here's some of the images from Tuesday nights 85th annual Major League Baseball All Star game in downtown Minneapolis at Target Field.

Helping send Derek Jeter out a winner in his last All-Star game appearance, Mike Trout drove in two runs with a triple and a double to lead the American League past the National League 5-3 on Tuesday night.

Max Scherzer picked up the victory with a scoreless inning, and Twins closer Glen Perkins pitched a perfect ninth for the save in front of his home crowd to again give the AL home-field advantage for the World Series.

Another hometown favorite, Pat Neshek, took the loss for the NL.

Derek Jeter was a big hit from the start in his final All-Star game.

Batting leadoff for the American League, the 40-year-old shortstop for the New York Yankees seized the moment Tuesday night by hitting a double down the right-field line on the second pitch from Adam Wainwright.

Jeter crossed the plate moments later for the game'sfirst run a few minutes later.

The double, which was a classic, opposite-field liner by Jeter, raised his All-Star batting average to a robust .462 — 12 hits in 26 at-bats.

In the top of the first inning, Jeter made a slick diving stop on Andrew McCutchen's sharp groundball up the middle. Jeter got to his feet and fired an on-target throw to first base, but the fleet-footed McCutchen was too fast, beating it out for a single.

This was the 14th time Jeter was picked as an All-Star. He's set to retire after this season.
