The St. Cloud State University women's basketball team, Gopher men's hockey team, St. Cloud Norsemen, and Granite City Lumberjacks all kicked off the weekend with a win. The Husky men's hockey team opened their weekend series with a tie, while the SCSU men's basketball team and Minnesota Timberwolves both lost their games. Meanwhile, the Gopher men's basketball team and the Minnesota Wild are getting ready for their Saturday matchups.

Friday night sports action saw many victories by our local sports teams.

Three central Minnesotans are being honored for their work in sports at an event in St. Paul on Wednesday.

The St. Cloud Norsemen, Granite City Lumberjacks, and St. Cloud State basketball teams all finished Saturday with wins, the SCSU men's hockey team tied with UND, and the Gopher men's hockey team fell to Notre Dame in OT. Meanwhile, the Gopher men's and women's basketball teams, Minnesota Timberwolves, and Minnesota Wild are gearing up for their Sunday matchups.

The Minnesota Wild, St. Cloud Norsemen, Granite City Lumberjacks, Gopher men's hockey team, and both St. Cloud State basketball teams closed out Friday night with another tally in the win column. Meanwhile, the Husky men's hockey team had a rough showing against UND, and the Minnesota Timberwolves dropped their road matchup to the Suns.

The Minnesota Wild, SCSU men's hockey team, St. Cloud Norsemen, and Granite City Lumberjacks completed weekend sweeps, while the SCSU women's basketball team and Gopher men's basketball team also notched wins on Saturday. The Gopher men's hockey team and SCSU men's basketball team each came up short. The Minnesota Timberwolves and Gopher women's basketball team are getting ready for their Sunday matchups as well.

Friday was a good day for state and local sports teams with the University of Minnesota and St. Cloud State University men's hockey teams, SCSU women's basketball team, St. Cloud Norsemen, Granite City Lumberjacks, and Minnesota Wild all earning wins. The SCSU men's basketball team came up short in Nebraska, and the Gopher men's basketball team is gearing up to host Rutgers.

The St. Cloud State women's basketball team got back in the win column, and the Granite City Lumberjacks and St. Cloud Norsemen both came out on top on Saturday. The Gopher men's hockey team, Gopher women's basketball team, and St. Cloud State men's basketball team each came up short in their matchups. On Sunday, the Gopher men's basketball team will host Iowa, and the Minnesota Timberwolves will host the Golden State Warriors.

The Minnesota Wild, Gopher men's hockey team, and Granite City Lumberjacks all notched Friday wins. Upper Iowa proved to be too much for both the St. Cloud State University basketball teams and the St. Cloud Norsemen were outscored in Austin. Meanwhile, the Gopher women's basketball team is returning to the barn for a Big 10 matchup against Ohio State.

The NDSU Bison football team is headed home with another title under their belts, the Gopher men's hockey team swept Michigan State, the St. Cloud State University women's basketball earned a Saturday win with a late push, the Granite City Lumberjacks earned their 24th straight win, the Minnesota Wild squeaked out a win over Washington, and the St. Cloud Norsemen stopped their slump with a blowout win. The Minnesota Vikings will suit up one more time this season, while the Minnesota Timberwolves and Gopher men's and women's basketball teams prep for their Sunday matchups.
