Sartell Mayor Ryan Fitzthum is the latest featured person on WJON's My Life Series. Ryan grew up in the Sartell, his father worked for Simonson Lumber before teaching at Sartell High School.

The former paper mill site in Sartell is a large piece of property the city is looking to have developed. Sartell Mayor Ryan Fitzthum says IAG Commercial is the company that holds the contract to market the land to developers on behalf of the city.

Sartell has been in pursuit of an additional hotel for quite awhile. Sartell Mayor Ryan Fitzthum joined me on WJON for our monthly conversation. He says there is interest from hotel developers in Sartell for 1 to 2 new hotels that could break ground as early as 2025.

Pine Ridge Golf Course in Sartell has been under new ownership in 2024 but was operated by the existed operator through the 2024 season. Sartell Mayor Ryan Fitzthum says that will be changing in 2025.

Sartell's River Crossing development is getting close to full with 2 to 3 commercial locations still available. Sartell Mayor Ryan Fitzthum indicates Les Schwab Tires and Valvoline Oil Change are close to opening. He says the walls are up and appear on track to open soon.

The city of Sartell continues to move forward with plans to develop the old paper mill site. Sartell Mayor Ryan Fitzthum joined me on WJON. He says the vision for the property includes trails, green space, residential, commercial and some sort of activity/sports feature.

Sartell's River Crossing will be close to full after 2 new businesses join the development this fall. Sartell Mayor Ryan Fitzthum indicates Valvoline Instant Oil Change and Les Schwab Tire Company will be breaking ground this fall.

The former Sartell paper mill site known as the city's Mill District's timeline has been pushed back a bit. That according to Sartell Mayor Ryan Fitzthum. He says the city continues to work with their consultants, interest groups, stakeholders and the community.

Commercial growth in Sartell along the Highway 15 corridor continues. Sartell Mayor Ryan Fitzthum expects the River Crossing Development to fill up in 2024. He says they have 4 to 5 lots available in the development.
