HUTCHINSON -- Strong morning winds are to blame for thousands without power and injuring a Hutchinson man.

Sue Pawelk with McLeod Co-op Power Association says more than 1,000 customers in McLeod and Carver counters were without power this (Thursday) morning due to the storm.

As of 2:30 p.m. Pawelk says all but a dozen had their electricity restored. They hope to have all power back by tonight.

The state patrol says 30-year-old Albert Holker was heading south on Highway 15 when a crosswind blew his semi over, causing him to go into the ditch.

He was taken to Hutchinson Health for non-life threatening injuries.

Authorities says high winds also knocked down several tree branches around the area.
