St. Cloud VA Proposing Land Lease For Homeless Vets Apartment
ST. CLOUD -- The St. Cloud VA Medical Center is looking to grant an Enhanced Use Lease agreement with a private, non-profit developer to build an apartment complex on the VA campus. The 35-unit apartment complex would serve veterans who are homeless or are at-risk of homelessness.
VA spokesman Barry Venable says the project will have multiple benefits. Venable says providing affordable housing to veterans benefits our soldiers and also benefits the community as a whole.
The housing complex will be built on six acres of land on the southeast side of the campus near the Al Loehr Veterans and Community Studio Apartments.
There will be a public meeting Wednesday where you can learn more about the project. It will be held at 5:00 p.m. in Building 48 on the VA campus.
