BIG LAKE -- A St. Cloud man faces several charges after he was arrested in Big Lake Tuesday.

The incident happened at about 7:15 a.m. in the Northstar Train Station Parking Lot.

Police Chief Joel Schraf says an officer was patrolling the parking lot when he noticed a vehicle that was reported stolen in St. Cloud on Monday. A license plate check confirmed the vehicle was stolen.

The officer saw the driver, 30-year-old Joseph Alman of St. Cloud, throw a pack of cigarettes out of the car. Alman was asked to get out of the vehicle.

Police say the cigarette box contained about 2.4 grams of methamphetamine. Authorities also searched the vehicle and found a playstation inside.

Alman told authorities he stole the vehicle and the playstation from a prior roommate's home.

He was arrested taken to the Sherburne County Jail. Alman faces charges of 5th Degree Possession Controlled Substance, and possession of a stolen vehicle.

Scharf says the information regarding the burglary was sent to the St. Cloud police department for further investigation.
