Spicer Woman Arrested in Shoplifting Case

WAITE PARK -- Authorities solved a string of shoplifting cases in the St. Cloud area with the arrest of a Spicer woman.

Waite Park Police were called to Kohl's on a shoplifting complaint Tuesday afternoon. The woman was seen leaving in a red Pontiac Grand Prix.

A short time later, a Stearns County Sheriff's Deputy spotted the car and tried to make a traffic stop. The driver took off, reaching speeds of 100 miles an hour before finally stopping on Stearns County Road 6 in St. Joseph Township.

Police arrested the driver, 27-year-old Kayla Dahl on suspicion of felony theft and fleeing police.  She was also wanted on several warrants in Stearns, Douglas and Kandyohi counties.

Police also found nearly $4,000 worth of stolen merchandise inside Dahl's car and returned the items to Kohl's, Wal-Mart, Target, Spencer Gifts and hair care stores.
