ST. CLOUD -- Six months after a fire caused the Perkins Restaurant and Bakery near Crossroads Center to close, the business is set to reopen in a few weeks.

Owner Dave Hanson says they hope to be back in the restaurant by the week of March 20th. He says, while the damage was minor, the delay came when they decided to renovate the inside.

"The city officials wanted everything brought up to code, the building was built over 40 years ago. It's been a slow, painful process but we look forward to get it back up and running again," says Hanson.

Hanson says the restaurant will have a similar look to the Sartell location. He says the restaurant has been a staple for many years and they are excited to have it back in business.

"A lot of our guest have been visiting our other stores but keep asking when their favorite store will be open. We had hoped to have it open before now, but we will move on and look forward to getting everyone to come back to the Crossroads store," says Hanson.

Hanson says all 75 employees are expected to return to work at the location once they re-open. The September fire caused roughly $100,000 in damage.
